US intelligence officials are on high alert, cautioning about possible terrorist threats targeting large gatherings across the United States in the aftermath of the recent ISIS assault on concert attendees in Moscow.

According to ABC News, law enforcement agencies are wary that extremists within the US could heed ISIS’ call for similar attacks following the deadly incident at a concert hall in Russia. The intelligence bulletin underscores concerns that ISIS operatives worldwide and self-radicalized individuals, commonly referred to as “lone wolves,” may be emboldened by the group’s promotion of such assaults on public venues.

FBI and Homeland Security authorities have issued warnings to US law enforcement regarding the potential for terrorist activity at “mass gatherings such as sports stadiums, concert venues, or houses of worship” within the country.

This alert arrives amidst preparations for the solar eclipse, drawing millions of people outdoors, heightening vigilance among security agencies nationwide.
