In a jaw-dropping moment of self-promotion, Democratic Representative Ted Lieu of California shamelessly touted MSNBC as the beacon of truth in combating fake news. Appearing on the Ali Velshi show, Lieu audaciously declared that tuning in to MSNBC is the surefire way to steer clear of misinformation. Yes, you read that right Lieu made this absurd assertion with a straight face, as if MSNBC is the gold standard of journalistic integrity.

But let’s not forget the glaring hypocrisy here. This is the very same network that has relentlessly peddled the debunked Russia collusion narrative and an assortment of other anti-Trump conspiracy theories for the past six years. From day one of the Trump administration, MSNBC has been on a mission to vilify and delegitimize the president at every turn.

It’s crystal clear what Lieu’s endorsement of MSNBC truly signifies. He’s essentially giving a stamp of approval to the relentless stream of leftist propaganda and baseless smears that MSNBC shamelessly dishes out day in and day out. It’s as if he’s nodding in agreement with every outlandish conspiracy theory and unhinged commentary that the network parades as news.

MSNBC has never met an anti-Trump conspiracy theory it didn’t immediately embrace and amplify. Whether it’s the Russia collusion hoax, the Ukraine impeachment debacle, or any other manufactured scandal, MSNBC has proven itself to be the epitome of partisan hackery disguised as journalism.

So when Ted Lieu showers praise on MSNBC for supposedly combating fake news, it speaks volumes about his own credibility or lack thereof. Rather than seeking out objective reporting and diverse perspectives, Lieu is content to cozy up to a network that has long abandoned any pretense of journalistic integrity in favor of pushing its own partisan agenda.

In the end, Lieu’s endorsement of MSNBC only serves to underscore the dire need for a return to honest, principled journalism. And until that day comes, discerning viewers would be wise to take his advice with a hefty dose of skepticism.
