Netflix is gearing up to deliver a knockout punch to its viewership with the announcement of live boxing on its platform.
Teaming up with Most Valuable Promotions, the streaming giant is set to showcase a showdown between internet sensation turned professional boxer Jake Paul and the legendary Mike Tyson.
Scheduled to take place at the iconic AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, on July 20, this clash promises to be a spectacle like no other.

Paul, with an impressive record of 9-1 and 6 knockouts, has been making waves in the boxing world with consecutive wins, including notable victories over Ryan Bourland and Andre August. However, facing off against the 57-year-old Tyson, a titan of the sport with a record of 50-6 and 44 knockouts, presents Paul with his toughest challenge yet.
Expressing his excitement for the match, Paul declared, “It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight, I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard. Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons.”

With aspirations of becoming a world champion, Paul sees this bout as an opportunity to prove himself against one of the sport’s most revered figures.
Meanwhile, Tyson, known as “The Baddest Man on the Planet,” looks forward to the showdown, acknowledging Paul’s growth as a boxer and anticipating an electrifying match. Reflecting on the journey, Tyson remarked, “It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him off on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.”
Nakisa Bidarian, founder of Most Valuable Promotions, hailed the fight as a “once-in-a-lifetime dream matchup,” aiming to make it the most-watched boxing event in modern history.

Netflix’s venture into live sports programming has been gaining momentum, with previous events like a golf tournament featuring Formula 1 drivers and PGA stars, and a live tennis match between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz. And now, with the acquisition of WWE Raw in 2025, the platform is poised to become a powerhouse in the sports entertainment arena.
Gabe Spitzer, Vice President of Nonfiction Sports at Netflix, expressed enthusiasm for the historic event, calling it “pure drama in the ring” and promising an unforgettable experience for fans worldwide. With the stage set for an epic showdown, all eyes will be on Netflix as it delivers a spectacle that promises to redefine the intersection of sports and entertainment.
