Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Threads are currently grappling with technical difficulties. The trifecta of Meta-owned platforms has hit a snag, with the glitchy outage seemingly initiating around 10AM ET.

Users are finding themselves forcibly logged out of their Facebook accounts, rendering them unable to regain access. On Instagram, a number of users, including several among my peers at The Verge, are encountering difficulty refreshing their feeds. While my own feed refreshes on Instagram, the loading of stories and comments seems to be stunted.

Threads, too, appears to have succumbed to the outage entirely. Upon launching the app, users are met with a disheartening error message proclaiming, “Sorry, something went wrong. Try again.” However, WhatsApp, another member of the Meta conglomerate, remains operational.

Reports on DownDetector soared for all three platforms this morning, yet Meta has remained mum on the issue. Despite The Verge’s outreach to Meta for comment on potential remedial efforts, a response has not been forthcoming.
