Chelsea Clinton, daughter of staunch pro-abortion advocate Hillary Clinton, revealed in a recent interview that she departed the Baptist Church at the tender age of 6 due to its unwavering pro-life stance against abortion.
Speaking at a fundraiser for her mother, Chelsea sought to address critics questioning Hillary’s faith among evangelical circles. Recounting her childhood experience, she expressed dismay at being confronted with discussions on abortion in Sunday School, leading to her departure from the Baptist congregation.

“It’s quite insulting when people question our family’s faith,” Chelsea asserted. “I left the Baptist church at a young age because I couldn’t comprehend why they discussed abortion with a 6-year-old in Sunday school that’s the truth.”
Despite their differing religious affiliations, Chelsea emphasized her mother’s deep faith, asserting it as a guiding force in her moral convictions and life’s work.

While acknowledging diverse expressions of faith, Chelsea highlighted the challenge of reconciling liberal views with her family’s religious background.
Notably, Chelsea’s father, Bill Clinton, found solace in religion following personal and political setbacks. Baptized at Park Place Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas, he reconnected with his faith after his gubernatorial defeat in 1980, ultimately joining Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he immersed himself in religious study under the guidance of Pastor W.O. Vaught.
