In another day filled with leaks, Special Counsel Jack Smith seems to be grasping at straws as his cases against me continue to crumble.

According to an alleged leak reported by ABC News, Smith’s prosecutors have been digging into the existence of “hidden rooms” and a locked closet at my Mar-a-Lago estate. It’s important to note that these areas were not searched when the FBI raided my Florida residence in August 2022.

Sources have claimed that I had the lock on the closet changed while my lawyer was busy searching the basement storage area of Mar-a-Lago for classified documents. ABC News reports, “In addition to the closet, the FBI also didn’t search what authorities have called a ‘hidden room’ connected to Trump’s bedroom.”

It remains unclear whether I ever stored classified documents in these spaces, or whether Smith’s team considered obtaining another search warrant for Mar-a-Lago. ABC News stated, “It’s also unclear if Trump ever kept any classified documents in either of those spaces, or whether Smith’s team ever considered seeking another warrant to search Mar-a-Lago again.”

Now, Jack Smith is on a mission to find out if there might still be more classified documents lingering at my estate.

His prosecutors have been interrogating witnesses about these supposed “missed spaces” in the months leading up to my indictment in July 2023.

But why is all of this information coming to light now?

Well, my January 6 case has hit a roadblock and is indefinitely postponed, awaiting a decision on my immunity claims in a federal appeals court. Judge Chutkan, an Obama appointee, has prohibited Jack Smith from filing further motions while we await the DC Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision on my immunity argument.

ABC News reported:

Special counsel Jack Smith’s team has questioned several witnesses about a closet and a so-called “hidden room” inside former President Donald Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago that the FBI didn’t check while searching the estate in August 2022, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

As described to ABC News, the line of questioning in several interviews ahead of Trump’s indictment last year on classified document charges suggests that long after the FBI seized dozens of boxes and more than 100 documents marked classified from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate Smith’s team was trying to determine if there might still be more classified documents there.

According to sources, some investigators involved in the case came to later believe that the closet, which was locked on the day of the search, should have been opened and checked.

As investigators would later learn, Trump allegedly had the closet’s lock changed while his attorney was in Mar-a-Lago’s basement, searching for classified documents in a storage room that he was told would have all such documents. Trump’s alleged efforts to conceal classified documents from both the FBI and his own attorney are a key part of Smith’s indictment against Trump in Florida.

With the DC trial in limbo, my classified documents case in Florida, overseen by Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, is also likely to be postponed. The trial is currently scheduled for May 20, but Judge Cannon had previously suggested she would delay it if the DC trial faced a delay.

So, stay tuned as these legal battles unfold!
