We need thousands of police departments across America to have the bravery, common sense, and fortitude to do what this Police Chief in the Village of Energy, Illinois.
Police Chief Shawn Lad put out a proclamation and it’s something that every red blooded American should be happy to read.
They will not go against the United States Constitution, or the State of Illinois Constitution to uphold illegal orders during a crisis or lockdown.
Ladd say the police department won’t enforce activities “concerning rules, regulations, declarations, or proclamations that are morally or technically in violation of the provisions in the United States Constitution or the Constitution of the State of Illinois.”
The letter to the community reads as follows:
“An open letter to the citizens and businesses of the Village of Energy.
Concerning the ever changing influx of “rules and mandates” surrounding the COVID-19 event, many of which are confusing and contradictory, the Village of Energy hereby makes the following statement;
With a long-held belief in the rule of law and order and an obligation to preserve the peace and protect the lives and property of the people, we are also honor bound to protect the people we serve from tyranny and government overreach in pursuit of these goals.
The Village of Energy, Illinois, and by proxy the Village’s Departments and Agents hold no interest in any enforcement activities concerning any rules, regulations, and declarations, or proclamations that are morally or technically in violation of the provisions of the United States Constitution or the Constitution of the State of Illinois.”

“It’s not about enforcing. It’s about following the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, several clauses contained in them – the right to free assembly, the freedom of assembly, the freedom of speech, the freedom of expression, the freedom of religion,” Ladd told News 3.
