Rep. Nancy Pelosi was hospitalized in Luxembourg after “sustaining an injury during an official engagement,” according to a statement from her spokesperson.

Pelosi, 84, is continuing her work, and her spokesperson, Ian Krager, noted that she is receiving “excellent” care from medical professionals.

“While traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation in Luxembourg to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official event and was hospitalized for evaluation,” Krager said.

Pelosi is “currently receiving excellent treatment” and continues her work, although she expressed regret for being unable to attend the rest of the CODEL events to honor the bravery of U.S. servicemembers during one of the most significant acts of American heroism in history. Krager also stated that Pelosi “looks forward to returning to the U.S. soon.”

Pelosi’s injury follows a recent incident in which Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell tripped and fell at the U.S. Capitol, injuring his wrist and face. McConnell, 82, was treated for a “minor cut” to his face and was “cleared to resume his schedule,” according to his spokesperson.
