In a Friday deposition, the FBI stated that they were not investigating the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich. The original lawsuit is based on the fact that they FBI has refused to release the contents of the Rich laptop via FOIA requests.

In this deposition David Gorman declares a FOIA exemption for the contents of the Rich laptop.

Gormas is an Assistant United States Attorney currently serving as the Chief ofthe Homicide Section, Superior Court Division, at the United States Attorney’s Office for theDistrict of Columbia (USAO-DC).

Gorman states in his deposition that homecides are under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Police Department in the District of Columbia. He also states that investigation is open through the United States Attorney’s Office. His statement about 2019 and the other agency investigating the murder of Rich has been redacted, so it is impossible to know who was investigating the case.

It was stated that Rich was not murdered as part of a larger conspiracy, but his laptop information must be kept confidential.

If Seth Rich was the victim of a botched robbery, where is there so much energy being extended to conceal the details surrounding his unfortunate murder?

The more time that passes since the murder of Seth Rich, the less we seem to know about that murder. Now the federal government appears to be going the extra mile by allowing a FOIA exemption which means the contents of Rich’s laptop cannot be requested and received by any member of the general public or media.
