Florida has been billed nationally as the “Free State”. Much talk has occurred on the Sunday morning programs regarding the freedom available in Florida. While true that Florida handled the Covid crisis better than the vast majority of states, should that credit be given to the Republican Party of Florida for driving policy narratives?

Early in 2024, GOP chairman Christian Ziegler was ousted due to accusations of rape and sexual misconduct.

Vice-chairman Evan power was handed the keys to the Republican Party of Florida, and there was optimism surrounding Power’s elevation. Following the first primary season of Power’s tenure that optimism has faded and integrity within the RPOF appears to be the same if not worse.

Take central Florida’s Willie Montague for example. After a hard fought primary Willie emerged victorious for Florida’s 10th congressional district that is currently represented by Maxwell Frost.

Roughly one week after his primary victory I spoke with Willie and he had not yet received any support from the state’s Republican party. Perhaps Montague isn’t the type of candidate the RPOF had in mind as a nominee. Is the party withholding resources in order to help incumbent Maxwell Frost win re-election?

The second issue with the RPOF comes from perhaps the most corrupt county in the state, Saint Johns.

Denver Cook was elected chairman of the local Republican Party on 5/9/2024, but as you can see from the paperwork below, Cook was not a member of the party until 5/16/2024.

Do you support the U.S. government increasing restrictions or a potential ban on TikTok over national security concerns?

Cook was pushed heavily during his candidacy for the chairmanship of the local party by Indivisible Infiltrators Angelica Gross and Lisa Gaglianese. Gaglianese herself even seems to know that Cook’s paperwork was incorrect, therefore making his chairmanship invalid.

A fraudulent voter guide was also mailed out just before the primary in the county garnering national media attention.

The Republican Party of Florida has remained silent and has not became involved in any of these issues.

In fact, Gaglianese herself appeared to be investigating the fraudulent mailer while the party remained silent. What incentive would Gaglianese have to conduct her own investigation?

Will Donald Trump be able to rely on the support of the Republican Party of Florida to defeat Kamala Harris, or does the state’s party do what it wants to do whenever it wants to do it?

In short, Florida is compromised. The Republican Party of Florida is compromised. Until the party takes major steps to restore the confidence of voters it should be treated as such.
