Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and 27-year-old boxer and YouTuber Jake Paul were set to clash on July 20. However, the highly anticipated fight has been moved to a later date.
On Saturday, March 16, 57-year-old Tyson, boasting a 50-6 record with 44 knockouts, was featured in an Instagram post by Tool singer Maynard James Keenan.

Keenan revealed that Tyson had started his training for the fight, originally scheduled to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
“Honored to have @miketyson grace our small town academy, @verdevalleybjj,” Keenan wrote in the post. “His Training Camp for @jakepaul vs @miketyson began under our roof.”
So, why has this much-anticipated bout been delayed? Here’s what we know so far.

“The fight will be rescheduled for a later date this year, allowing Mike to resume training without limitations and giving both fighters equal time to prepare for this unique matchup,” Netflix announced.
According to the New York Post, a medical issue on May 27 likely caused the postponement. Tyson experienced a medical scare on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. His representatives informed the Post via email that, “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing.”
This medical emergency caused a 25-minute delay for passengers as medical professionals attended to Tyson. After the incident, his representative reported that Tyson was “doing great.”

As for potential replacements for Tyson? There won’t be any. The fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will still happen, but at a later date, allowing Tyson time to recover from his ulcer flare-up.
Jake’s older brother, Logan Paul, a YouTuber and professional wrestler, joked about the fight delay on social media platform X.
