BROWARD COUNTY, FL – A shocking incident of potential arson has ignited concerns in Broward County as law enforcement intensifies efforts to locate the perpetrator who, in a reckless act, almost set themselves ablaze while igniting the front doors of a local church.

The disturbing event transpired on Monday, August 14, at approximately 1:41 a.m. at the premises of Power Outreach Ministry. The brazen incident, captured on surveillance footage, captured an unidentified individual recklessly dousing the church’s front doors with a flammable substance, subsequently setting a paper towel alight. Shockingly, this individual then proceeded to employ the burning paper towel to set the church’s doors ablaze.

Prompt response from first responders averted an even graver catastrophe by swiftly extinguishing the flames. However, the incident inflicted damage exceeding $1,000 to the property.

After the daring act, the individual captured in the surveillance video hastily fled the scene, heading westbound on Northwest 26th Street. Authorities are urging anyone who possesses pertinent information about the individual’s identity or their whereabouts to contact BSO Detective Robert O’Dor at 954-321-4849.
